This week we want to spotlight a very special member of the McKenzie team! 7-12 Secretary, Lorinda Marcy
We'd like to spotlight Lorinda for all she does for our Eagles and to thank her for her years of service. Lorinda's time at McKenzie is coming to a close soon, but she will always be a part of our school! Read what Lorinda says about her years at McKenzie:
"As a McKenzie alumnus, it always seemed a little surreal to be walking these halls every day. I feel blessed. McKenzie School has been my "home" for a long time. I just had a student come in last week and say, "You went to school here!?" Yes, I did, and thank you for noticing. I am not alone, though, as we have many Eagles return as staff or that have come home at one time or another. McKenzie has always held a special place in my heart, and I am grateful to be able to have had the opportunity to work with students and staff at many levels. I have worn many hats in my time, from the kitchen to the classroom, the office, and athletics, and it has been an adventure I will carry with me."
What is YOUR favorite Lorinda memory?

Here's an update on the Constructing a Brighter Future project! Our students have started painting and assembling the walls of the shelters!
In conjunction with McKenzie School District and other local school districts, Lane ESD and Lane Workforce have come together to help combat houselessness in Lane County. Constructing a Brighter Future gives high school students all over the county the opportunity to build shelters for people experiencing houselessness in our community. This year-long effort at our school is led by Mr. Seth O'Hara and has quickly become a favorite class of our students.
We admire their dedication and effort on this project and are excited to relocate this shelter to its future resident!
Read more about this project here: https://www.laneworkforce.org/constructing-a-brighter-future/
