Dear McKenzie Community,
We apologize for the number of messages but we recently discovered that our system was only reaching a few families and we don’t want to miss anyone.
We shared on Saturday that this past Thursday, Governor Brown ordered all Oregon schools to close March 16th through March 31st. Guidance states that these days are to be treated like inclement weather days. We are planning to resume school on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. At this time, we plan that this learning will occur on campus. We will keep you updated on any future changes to this guidance that may prompt us to implement a distance education model.
We are providing breakfast and lunch to students and other children ages 2-18 years old for the 8 days they would have been in school. March 16, 17, 18, 19, 30 and 31, 2020. Meals will be delivered along bus routes at regular stops, please meet the bus at your regular stops. Buses will be operating on a 2-hour delay schedule for morning routes. If your normal pick up is at 6:35 am, meal drop off will be at 8:35 am. Not a regular rider? Put that in the comments on the survey and we will contact you with a drop off time. Please complete the survey as it will give us valuable information to assist in our planning and preparation: https://forms.gle/gH5bFqKH8UvA1mdx6
The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority. During the closure we will be deep cleaning the buildings as a precaution. These are uncharted waters for all of us. Thank you all for being supportive of our students, each other, and our community during this time.
