Good afternoon Middle School Parent/Guardians and Sports Fans!
We are excited to offer a SKILLS CAMP to our 6th through 8th grade student athletes for football and volleyball. This will be available starting tomorrow, Thursday, 8/19/2021 and all of next week, Monday through Thursday, 8/23-8/26/2021.
Please bring your athlete with athletic shoes, comfortable clothes to move in (PE attire, no tank tops), water bottle, knee pads (if applicable to sport), face mask (required when not in a drill inside a building), and a snack (if needed). Transportation to and from camp is the responsibility of the parent, we encourage carpooling to help if transportation is a burden.
Football: 7 am - 10 am, meet at Pagoda/Football field, for player safety there will be no contact during skills camp.
Volleyball: 9 am - 12 pm, meet at New Gym, doors will be open by 8:30 am.

Attention All High School Student-Athletes and Parents:
High school practices for Football and Volleyball started today! Please reach out to Fred Heins @ fred.heins@mckenziesd.org if you would like to play.
There are a required number of practices for each sport before an athlete can participate in a contest. First football game is scheduled for 9/3/21 and the first volleyball match is scheduled for 8/31/21 both travel contests.
Tuesday practices are doubles:
Football = 7 am-10 am and 3 pm-5 pm
Volleyball = 9 am-12 pm and 3 pm-5 pm
Even if the athlete is waiting on their sports physical they should still be present at practices.

Hello McKenzie Sports Fans!
We are excited to get Fall Sports going and need to know which 9th through 12th-grade student-athletes would like to participate in Cross Country, Football, or Volleyball. If your student will be in one of the grades listed and attending McKenzie River Community School, please email Athletic Director Fred Heins at fred.heins@mckenziesd.org as soon as possible. FREE Summer Welding Camp!
Lane Community College is offering a welding camp for middle and high school students this August.
Students learn how to Gas Tungsten Arc Weld, how to use a plasma cutter, and how to bend metal.
During week two, the same high school students will mentor middle schoolers on the same welding techniques.

UPDATE: School Resumes In-Person, Full-Time in Fall 2021
McKenzie Families,
We will be welcoming students back to school this fall to attend classes on-site full-time, four days a week.
The district will not be offering an online option, but we will work with families to help them obtain quality education options.

Camp Noah is now a reality in the McKenzie Valley!
Camp Noah is a fun-filled day camp for children entering 1st - 5th grade. The camp is designed especially for children who have experienced disasters such as wildfires.
There are two sessions in August. In addition, there is a week-long overnight camp for middle schoolers at Camp Lutherwood.
